ELCOMETER WET FILM THICKNESS GAGE, MODEL 115

This is an inexpensive, pocket-size comb-type, polished stainless steel gage for measuring the wet film thickness of paints, enamels, lacquers, adhesives, and many other coatings that are sprayed, dipped or brushed onto a smooth surface. It is commonly used by inspectors and painters to get a quick indication of the amount of coating being deposited.

Ten stepped scale divisions are ground and honed for greatest accuracy. Four scale ranges are available covering 1 to 50 mils.

To make a test, the gage face is held perpendicular to the surface and pressed into the fresh wet coating until the gage rests squarely on the substrate. It is then withdrawn without side movement. The wet film thickness lies between the highest step coated and the next higher step which did not coat.

# 603 – Range 2 to 30 mils: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 51 to 762 microns
